Exhibitions in Galerie BaerReviereVom 16 April, 2004 bis 28 May, 2004Stefanie Busch (installation/objects) and Landscape and memory are the dominating motifs in Stefanie Busch‘s paintings. In her anonymous landscape paintings she attempts to tease the memory of the spectators. Accordingly, she called her diploma, a mixed-media work composed of screen print, film and light, “Erinnerung geschönt” (i.e."sugar-coated memory"). In a synthesis of film aesthetics, photography and painting, the artist usually presents her work in light boxes. For the exhibition "Profiler" in 2003, she applied this approach to a diaphanous, illuminated work on transparency in one of the gallery’s windows. The window suggested the topic of reflection which Stefanie Busch staged by means of a montage of transparencies that reflected the opposite façade. Since in turn the façade’s windows depicted a virtual landscape, she provoked the recipients' memory. |
